The beautiful horses and qualified guides from Pemberton Stables provide our TAG Whistler horseback riding guests with an exquisite and unique riding experience. The beginner Western Ride is perfect for those wishing to ride a slower more relaxed pace. The intermediate Mountain Ride takes place in majestic Pemberton just forty-five minutes north of Whistler. Both tours witness breathtaking views of the Coastal Mountains and surrounding natural environment.

What to bring

Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes
Transportation is provided for the Western Ride at Edgewater Stables. Transportation is not provided for the Mountain Ride in Pemberton

Tips

Be prepared for some amazing photo opportunities
Feel free to bring your own cowboy hat…always adds to the fun!
Insect repellent and sunscreen is recommended but not provided

FAQ

Tours will run rain or shine
Shuttle transportation for the Western Ride is provided. For the Mountain Ride in Pemberton, simple directions and a map can be provided for your self-drive just 30-40 minutes north of Whistler
Waivers must be signed prior to tour
Instruction from experienced professional guides will be provided
The Western Ride has a minimum age of 9 years (must be accompanied by an adult)
The Mountain Ride has a minimum age of 12 years (those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
Maximum weight for all horseback riders is 230 lbs (no exceptions)
Are helmets required? It is the law that everyone 16 and under must wear a helmet. They are provided at both locations and are recommended for everyone
There is no food or drink included on either tour
How much experience is needed? None for the Western Ride – beginners welcome! For the Mountain Ride, riders should be comfortable getting on and off a horse on their own, have ridden at least 20 times previous and are able to trot and canter. Please remember that we still only ride as fast as the slowest person.

The Mountain Ride

The beautiful Pemberton Valley is the setting for this advanced Whistler horseback riding tour. Upon arriving at the Pemberton Stables you will embark on a faster paced journey up, down and across a series of mountainous trails. Specifically designed for experienced riders, it is expected that everyone know how to canter, trot and mount a horse without instruction.

The Western Ride

Departing with the horses from Edgewater Stables you will embark on a beautiful tour rich with lush scenery and gentle riding conditions. “The Western Ride” is a horseback riding tour that is perfect for TAG Whistler guests seeking family and kid-friendly activities, first time riders or those interested in a slower paced tour.
